Initial Consultation

After a thorough consultation, taking your full history, pulse and tongue diagnosis; your initial treatment may include Acupuncture, Cupping, Tui Na Massage, Herbal Formula, Moxibustion, Gua Sha, Dietary and Lifestyle modifications or a combination of the above.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese treatment that has been used for over 3,000 years. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles through the skin at specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points. These points along the body are specifically used in order to maintain the body’s flow of energy in order to support the reduction of pain and promote healing.

Herbal Formula

As a part of your consultation and treatment, where indicated, Traditional Chinese Herbal Formulas may be prescribed. Black Pearl and China Med patent herbal formulas are used and are convenient capsules and honey pills.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese alternative medicine intervention which has recently been gaining in popularity in the Western world. Cupping is used by acupuncturists for pain relief and for improving blood circulation. In fact, cupping was first recorded in Chinese medical texts as far back as 1,500 years ago!

Tui Na Chinese Massage

A form of Chinese medicine, Tui na or acupressure is a stimulating, noninvasive method that stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities to relieve stress and tension in the muscles and joints, while promoting circulation and supporting healing.

Moxibustion is being applied to the soles of the feet of a patient.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) technique where the practitioner uses burning mugwort or herb moxa on specific points along the acupuncture meridians. The aim is to warm specific areas to promote blood flow and circulation.
